OXTED U14s defeated Westerham 7-2 in the Tandridge Youth League, keeping them in third place.
Oxted began well, with two quick goals. Callum Taylor played in Alex Dyer, who was able to shoot past the keeper. This was followed a minute later by Jordan Heylligar making a solo run into the box and seeing a shot parried, however he was able to follow up quickly and make it two.
Westerham were able to pull two goals back when Oxted's defence switched off, however Oxted came close to pulling one back quickly, with Heylligar hitting the bar. Oxted quickly restored the two goal lead before half time, with Heylligar shooting in from a Dyer cross, before Luke Monteith headed in a corner, also assisted by Dyer.
A change of formation and personel at half time helped Oxted extend their lead. Defender Tom Thomson scored within a minute of the restart, with a long range clearance from his own half going over the defence and the keeper.
Midfielder Charlie Leighton set up Oxted's sixth, with Charlie Smith tapping into an empty net. Leighton was able to make it seven when he was played through by captain Henry Jones, before Leighton chipped the keeper. In the final minutes of the game, Leighton again caused problems for the defence, when he was able to skip through the defence, however his shot went just wide of the post.
Jacob Lelliott was awarded Man of the Match for his tireless performance in midfield.
