East Surrey CID is appealing for witnesses following a violent assault in Redhill Town Centre last night (Friday).
Officers were called to the taxi rank outside of Roadrunners on Station Road just before 11.20pm after a report of an altercation at the scene.
On arrival two men were found with injuries and another man was arrested on suspicion of assault (GBH). One of the victims, a man in his late 30s, was taken to East Surrey Hospital for treatment to a suspected fracture to the head.
The other victim, a man in his late 30s, suffered minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.
Investigating officer PC Paul Overton, said: "Many people would have been in this area of Redhill at the time of the assault and I would urge anyone who saw the incident or the events surrounding it to contact officers with information."
The arrested man, who is in his 20s, remains in police custody. A number of enquiries including CCTV are currently being carried out in the area.
