The father of a Surrey schoolgirl who went missing on Friday has thanked the public and police for their support after she was returned home safe.
15-year-old Nicole Kenway went missing from Dorking at 3.50pm on Friday.
Her frantic family and friends launched a desperate search to find her, which moved to central London after police traced her phone signal to Oxford Street yesterday. Appeals to find her were retweeted thousands of times on Twitter.
Last night she was spotted by a Met Police unit as it drove down a street in Victoria, and returned to her Dorking home.
Her dad Dominic said: "She was found safe and well and brought home by Surrey Police at about 10.30pm.
"She was extremely lucky, she is unharmed but absolutely knackered."
He confirmed Nicole had been on her own, and had travelled to London of her own volition.
"Relief is the main feeling right now," said an exhausted Mr Kenway. "Everyone has been so supportive. Surrey Police were fantastic and the Met Police found her. I would just like to thank everyone for their support."
