A "miracle" baby donkey called Raymond has been born in Horley.
The new arrival - now just two weeks old - is happily playing in a field off Langshott.
But his entry into the world was touch and go.
His surprise birth was on February 17 - shortly after the floodwater had receded in the field in which he was born.
His owner Jackie Belither, who lives in Horley, said: "If he had born several days earlier, I dread to think what might have happened.
"He could have drowned in the field.
"But the little chap was really a complete surprise.
"We thought our male donkey, called Noddy, was gelded until this event proved otherwise!"
"Raymond was indoors initially.
"But he has had a few ventures outside, and has enjoyed nosing a football in the field."
He is named after Raymond Heathcote of Gayton Veterinary Group - from Lonesome Lane, Reigate - who looks after the donkeys.
