LESS than a week after being told his England career is over, things are looking up for Kevin Pietersen after the batsman agreed terms to play for Surrey. Surrey announced that Pietersen will play in the revamped NatWest T20 Blast that is scheduled mainly on Friday nights from May to July, but the batsman added himself on Twitter than he will be available for County Championship games as well. He said: "BTW - this is a T20 contract, but I can play in the County Championship too... Love @surreycricket!" And Pietersen spoke of his delight at agreeing to play for the Oval team. "I'm absolutely delighted to have agreed terms with Surrey and am thoroughly looking forward to playing my cricket for the club this summer," he told their website. "I've had some of my best moments in cricket at the Kia Oval and I'm really excited at the prospect of getting back out there playing in what will hopefully be a brilliant summer for us all at Surrey." And Pietersen's Surrey team-mates were equally pleased to have him on board, with bowler Chris Tremlett sending a warning to the opposition. "Great to see that @KP24 has agreed to play with @surreycricket this year. Look out county bowlers!! Glad I'm on the same side," Tremlett tweeted. And wicketkeeper Steve Davies added: "Top news regarding @KP24. Always gives his best when playing for us. Very excited! #topman" Surrey will play fourteen T20 matches this summer from the Oval to Chelmsford, Taunton and Canterbury.
