DAVID Beckham's underwear commercial at last night's Superbowl could not help him beat Outwood's Dame Judi Dench in a list of Britain's heroes.
The annual freud's Heores Index places Dame Judi in 10th place, above David Beckham and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.
Falklands hero Simon Weston topped the list, which is compiled by internet research and an 84-person panel, from a list of 4,000 Britains.
Freud's director of insight Alice Cartner-Morley said: "The freuds Heroes Index reveals that despite our national interest in celebrity, we seek much more than just fame in our role models, and overwhelmingly recognise heroes in proportion to their authenticity and the contribution they make in society."Britain's top 20 heroes according to freud's Heroes Index
