Flood alerts remain in place in Caterham and Whyteleafe today with the environment agency warning heavy rain in December is still causing a risk.
According to the agency website high groundwater levels in the Caterham Bourne Catchment could cause flooding to low-lying roads and houses, particularly if more rain hits the area this week.
Similar weather in 2001 caused problems for homes and roads on or near the A22 Godstone Road, Whyteleafe especially near Hilside Road Maple Road and Downsway.
Officers are currently monitoring the forecast and keeping a close eye on water levels.
Elsewhere a flood alert which had been issued for the River Mole and its tributaries from Kinnersley Manor to South Hersham has been lifted.
The alert, which covered parts of Dorking and Leatherhead was removed last night (Sun) and comes after the Mole rose to its highest levels in 25 years over the weekend.
