West Ham FC Chairman David Gold, owner of Whyteleafe-based adult entertainment empire Ann Summers, has told how he has been subjected to "spiteful" comments.
Caterham resident Mr Gold spoke out to the football club's fanzine Blowing Bubbles - as the ailing team plunged to one from last in the Premiership.
He said: "There are some people who I hold in high regard and I respond to their questions, but others are just spiteful.
"Its a time of reflection for us and I don't want to get into confrontation with fans or people who are just looking for a fight."
