THE festive period is upon us and, along with the annual Christmas Shop making an appearance in Redhill's Belfry Shopping Centre, an array of clothes outlets are appearing in the town's once vacant lots.
According to Andy Nash, Belfry centre manager, now is the perfect time for new enterprises to start up – giving them the best chance to start on the right foot and get through the tough first month.
"For any retailer, if they're going to start trading, they want to be in for Christmas because it's the busiest time of the year," he told the Mirror. "Everybody wants to get in and capitalise on that.
"We've got options on the Christmas Shop, which is a great offer and they come back every year and we'll always accommodate them.
"With regards to the other shops, they've all got longer term options on their leases so we'll see what happens because we'd like them to keep them.
"My desire is to have the centre at full capacity, nothing hurts more than an empty shop."
