Holly Run in Reigate sees Dorking and Mole Valley team finish second

SAM CLIFF starred at the Holly Run in Reigate on Saturday, winning the U13 boys race.

The Dorking & Mole Valley Athletic Club athlete romped home in 11 minutes 10 seconds, finishing five seconds ahead of Camberley Athletic Club's James Fleming and 11 seconds ahead of Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow runner Max O'Neill.

His performance helped the Dorking & Mole Valley team to second in the team event, finishing 19 points behind Windsor Slough Eton and Hounslow and three points ahead of Oxted School.

Elsewhere, Tom Lowry ran a good race in the U15 boys race, finishing eighth in 19 minutes.

There were also good runs from Joseph Palmer (6:47), Cameron Barrett (6.53) and George Robert-Shaw (6.54) as the trio finished just inside the top ten in the U11 boys race, helping Dorking and Mole Valley to a second place finish in the team event.

In the U11 girls race, Maddie Phillips (7.23) ran well to finish eighth, while Elsa Palmer also finished eighth in the U13 girls race.

Meanwhile, Zoe Shannon was the first Dorking and Mole Valley home in the ladies race, finishing in 19 minutes 32 seconds.

Louise Ionascu ran a good race in the Vet35, finishing in 20 mins 34 secs, while Jenny Dexter (22:28) and Helen Johnson (23:21) ran well.

The U20 girls team came second in the team event, while in the six-mile men's race, Robert Russell was the first Dorking home in 39 mins 52 secs, while Ian Taylor (44:16) and Chris Phillips (46:14) ran in the Vet 40 race.
