AROUND 160 contestants took part in a multi-terrain run last weekend, over two distances.
Organised by Lingfield Running Club, competitors donned their running shoes for the Lingfield Dry Hill ten mile and five mile trail races.
Now in its twelfth year the scenic course attracted runners seeking a challenge on Sunday at Young Epilepsy, in St Piers Lane, Lingfield.
Keith Leatherbarrow, from the club, said: "It was brilliant – the event has come on leaps and bounds and has become more and more popular.
"The first prize was for a weekend for two in France, which I think was also quite popular.
"The money raised this year will all go to Jigsaw – a children's charity.
"We don't know how much we managed to raise yet, but we hope it will be about £500,"
A couple of years ago, the club "re-vamped" the run, which saw prizes dished out to not only the winners but those who stood out during the race.
This year's race was sponsored by Howard Cundey estate agents, in Godstone Road, Lingfield, Bengal Village restaurant, in Lingfield High Street and Eye Spy Photos, based in the village as well.
