REDHILL'S Memorial Park will be completely transformed by the end of next year.
A grant of £88,800 from Sport England will pay for a new multi-use games area as well as the refurbishment of the current tennis courts and the building of a new set.
Councillor Natalie Bramhall, executive member for property and regeneration at Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, said: "We're thrilled to have secured this Olympic legacy funding from Sport England's Inspired Facilities fund.
"It will provide a fantastic boost to our plans to revamp Memorial Park, particularly the new sports zone, which will provide entry level sports facilities accessible to people of all ages and abilities."
The improvement plans, which also include a new children's playground, are now at an advanced stage.
A pavilion café and toilets recently received planning permission and contractors will be appointed in the autumn with a view to starting work next February.
Councillor Adam De Save, executive member for leisure at the borough council, said: "It's great news that our funding bid for the Memorial Park sports zone has been successful.
"Improving the park's sports facilities will make them much more inviting and provide more opportunities for residents and people working in the town to get active."
The project is expected to be completed next year.
