REIGATE: Super-fast broadband has come to Reigate.
According to Virgin, customers will now benefit from some of the fastest broadband speeds in the UK as part of its nationwide scheme to increase speeds for four million cable customers.
Explaining that the upgrade could allow people to download entire music albums in seconds, Jon James, Virgin Media's executive director of broadband, said: "Virgin Media has driven the development of faster broadband in the UK and we're delighted to be boosting our customers' speeds in Reigate once again."
NORWOOD HILL: A man was taken to hospital with chemical burns after spilling sulphuric acid on himself.
Firefighters from Horley and Reigate stations as well as an environmental protection unit from Dorking fire station attended the Fox Revived pub in Norwood Hill after the bottle of acid was knocked over on Wednesday last week .
The fire services were called at 12.13pm after 100ml of the highly corrosive liquid was spilt on the man's leg. They remained on the scene until 2pm.
Staff at the pub say the man has now fully recovered.
