A WEBSITE has been set up by Surrey Police to help reunite property believed to be stolen with its rightful owners.
A large amount of property, including electrical items, jewellery and watches, was recovered following a search warrant at an address in Croydon last month.
The haul is believed to have been stolen from addresses in Reigate and Banstead, Epsom, Mole Valley, Tandridge and Guildford.
Images of all the property seized are now on a Surrey Police page on social media site Pinterest, and burglary victims can go to the page to see if they recognise any of their valuables.
Detective Constable Victoria Hunter said: "Pinterest offers an effective, efficient and convenient opportunity to view items at times suitable to the user and is in a format that is widely accessible to the community.
"This is the first time that Surrey Police have used this tool and I am hopeful that the response will be positive."
Letters have been hand delivered to all the victims of house burglaries in targeted areas since January, inviting them to look on the website and identify any property which may have been stolen from their home.
