IN THE eternal words of rocker Alice Cooper, school was officially out for summer after more than 100 schoolchildren took part in an end of term party.
Pupils from several schools across the district descended on Kingston Road Recreation Ground, in Leatherhead, to take part in fun and games to celebrate the end of the school year.
The event was organised by charities the Leatherhead Youth Project, Liquid Connection and The Bridge Youth Club, along with Mole Valley District Council.
Speaking to the Advertiser after the event on July 24, Leatherhead Youth Project worker Martin Fuller said it was a "really successful day".
He added: "The day has been a huge success, with more than 100 young people participating and welcoming the summer in style.
"We wanted to reward the young people after a long year at school, with a relaxed and fun day."
Pupils from schools including Therfield School took part in activities including football, volleyball and inflatable equipment, and were treated to a barbecue and live music.
Children also saw out the day with a mass water balloon fight.
