THREE men from Croydon have been arrested over an armed robbery in which a family of four were tied up in their own home.
The arrests of the men, from Thornton Heath and New Addington, were made after an appeal on BBC TV's Crimewatch programme.
The raid happened during the early hours of June 12 last year in East Park Lane, Newchapel, near East Grinstead.
A mother, father and two daughters were tied up at the secluded property by a gang of masked men, and the father was threatened with a firearm. The robbers took items including a Rolex watch and a Louis Vuitton handbag.
After information was passed to Surrey Police following the Crimewatch appeal, the arrests were made in South Croydon on July 25.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Portia Andrews said: "The warrants were executed following information received by people who watched Crimewatch in March and I am very grateful that people contacted the show to assist with the investigation.
"Since the offence took place I have worked closely with the family and I hope the execution of these warrants demonstrates our commitment to them."
A man in his 30s from New Addington was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and was released on bail until Thursday, September 12, while investigations continue.
A second man in his 30s, from Thornton Heath, was arrested for the same offence on Wednesday, July 31, and released on police bail until September 10.
A third man, also in his 30s and from New Addington, was arrested for the same offence the following day at a planned appointment at Reigate police station.
Detectives from East Surrey CID continue to appeal to anyone who knows the whereabouts of the missing items, or has any other information on the robbery, to contact them on 101, quoting Operation Jarrah.
